This art work was made in order to connect with people. Wallworth filmed portraits of several women residing in Australia‚ but originating from countries such as Afghanistan‚ Sudan‚ Iraq and El Salvador‚ who have lived through wars‚ or survived concentration camps or extreme acts of violence. If i had met them before i would have felt sorry for them, but when i think more carefully then i don't have to feel sorry for them. They already experience satisfactions in their life. I can see this from the art work. And they want to connect with other people. i think this art work's point is the people's gesture. It looks like 'come and touch me i'm not diffrent'. It could be wrong. This art work's technology which is video work and can be felt like real things appeals fresh to me.
